Did you receive a positive pregnancy test at Willow Grove Care Center? An ultrasound may be your next step.
An ultrasound provides more information about your pregnancy and helps answer important questions. Knowing these details can help you make an informed decision, whether you're considering abortion, adoption, or parenting. If you meet certain qualifications, we can provide an ultrasound to help you better understand your pregnancy.
Is My Pregnancy Viable?
Approximately 10–20% of known pregnancies end in miscarriage. A positive pregnancy test alone cannot determine whether a pregnancy is viable.
If you're considering abortion, it's important to know whether your pregnancy is viable (hasn't miscarried) and appears to be developing in the uterus rather than outside it (ectopic). An ultrasound can help assess both by checking for cardiac activity (a heartbeat) and pregnancy location. If no heartbeat is detected, additional evaluation may be needed to determine whether a miscarriage has occurred.
How Far Along Is My Pregnancy?
Regardless of which pregnancy option you are considering, knowing how far along you are is important. This is especially true if you are considering a medication abortion (also known as the "abortion pill"), which is FDA-approved for use through 10 weeks of pregnancy. If you are considering adoption or parenting, knowing your gestational age also helps determine your estimated due date.
